debate competition: (only for school STUDENTS)
CLAP is glad to announce, a debate competition only for the young brains of the schools on current burning social issues. The topics will be concerned with society and will also include legal aspect of such issues. This debate shall help to spread the legal awareness as well as curiosity in the minds of the school going children so that the Law of the land is uprooted in their thinking from an early stage.

rules of the competition:
1. This is a team event in which one team will participate from each school. A team must consist of two members, an affirmative side that supports the motion and a negative side which opposes the motion with constructive counter arguments.
2. All students from class 9th to 12th are eligible to participate in the competition.
3. The topic of the motion, based on the theme _______________, will be declared on the completion of registration.
4. Speeches should be FIVE minutes maximum in duration. Speakers exceeding this may be penalized.
5. A timekeeper shall be present at each debate: he shall indicate to debaters during their addresses how much speaking time they have remaining. When a debater has exhausted his or her speaking time the moderator shall require the debater to terminate his or her speech. The first bell will be rung at the expiration of 4 minutes, the second warning bell will be rung after 4 and half minutes, and the final warning bell will be rung after completion of 5 minutes.
6. There will be an Open-mic rebuttal system, in which every team has to take two questions from the participants of the other team. The teams will also be judged for asking questions during the rebuttal session.
