A student’s PIL, got 66A out of our lives. A Public Interest Litigation covers almost every sphere of our lives. From matters of Social Justice , education , women protection and child rights, providing of shelter to the homeless to initiating investigation for various corruption matters; this entire edifice of legal aid and the very existence of the NUSRL Campus owes its birth to PIL. A PIL filed by the Jharkhand Bar Association, where six students of this university also impleaded themselves as parties, acaccelerated the construction work of the campus.
There is hardly any law student who has not thought of filing a PIL. Do you have any issue of such a public concern where direction from the Hon’ble Apex Court are required? We, through this competition invite you to draft and present that PIL of yours before our esteemed bench.
RULES:
1. The competition is open to all bona-fide law students, enrolled as regular student in any of the recognized universities.
2. Each team shall comprise of a minimum of two members and maximum of three members.
3. There maybe more than one teams from a University.
4. The competition is of two parts.
(To ensure the fairness in the selection process CLAP shall make all written drafts available for public viewing ”as it is”, unless a non-qualifying team makes a request to the contrary.)

- The Prelims: The teams shall submit a complete draft of the PIL from where the best four teams shall be selected to the next round.
- The Fest Round: The best four teams shall be invited to make an oral submission before our esteemed Bench.

6. Other general Rules.
- The deadline for the submission of written submission is 11:59P.m on the 26th of April, 2015.
- The submission must be attached to the mail to [email protected]. There shall be attachment which shall include the PIL as well as any annexures which the participants wants to present.
- The attachment shall be in Microsoft Word format only with either a .doc or.docx format.
- The mail shall bear the subject, “Submission of Written Copy for PIL drafting completion”
- The petition shall be adjudicated upon by a anonymous bench of judges, selected by the Organizing Committee consisting of legal professionals and legal luminaries.
